Hello! I'd like to introduce myself to you. I'm Terri Akkerman, pastor of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fremont, Ne since April, 2005. My husband, Gary, and I moved here from North Dakota where I was privileged to serve the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Jamestown for 11 years - yes, it is much colder there for much more of the year.

I'm originally from eastern SD - a little town of Bryant - and the Union Congregational United Church of Christ. I'm a graduate of United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities (1985). Before I attended seminary I was a junior high math teacher and a farm wife.

My favorite part of being a pastor is leading the congregation in worship! When we open our hearts and minds to give God worship, joy and hope come rushing in and the Spirit has another opportunity to continue to transform us. Worship is not a spectator event, and I work at helping everyone to be involved.
